BIO

Founded in 2024, the Nolan Nwachukwu Project is a New York City–based jazz ensemble led by bassist, composer, and bandleader Nolan Nwachukwu. The ensemble performs original music and reimagined contemporary works that draw from the continuum of Black American musical traditions, including jazz, gospel, soul, R&B, and funk. Through collective improvisation, melodic storytelling, and rhythmic depth, the group creates performances that honor jazz's legacy while reflecting the sound and spirit of today's musical landscape. Since its debut, the Nolan Nwachukwu Project has performed multiple engagements at Dizzy's Jazz Club and The Django, as well as appearances at The Jazz Club at Aman New York, bringing its original music to audiences across New York City's premier jazz venues.
